He sails skiffs primarily, he placed 12th at this years 29er Worlds, and is fixing up a 49er in our back yard right now! Hope that helps with the blog." TFE -- It does, indeed, thanks.


The weather was stereotypically sunny and warm, and so was the reception for our team at the eighth and final stop on the USA YC Tour (see the earlier post below and Jane's story on our main website).

With Peter and Gary are the auction winners, including Am Cup
vet Linda Nicholas (center) who won the Girard-Perregaux team
watch. One suspects she was bidding on behalf of her husband,
Jim, a sailing team member with our team during the last Cup and
a noted collector of high-end pieces, including fine watches.

Jack Sutphen, recently elected to the America's Cup Hall of Fame for
his many stints as B-boat driver for Dennis Conner, with Eric Doyle (USA,
sailing team). Eric was racing Star boats in San Diego last weekend and
snuck into the back of the room during our presentation, thereby managing
to stay off the dias. He was one of our presentors in San Francisco and
did a nice job for us there.

Bernie Wilson. Bernie has covered the Cup, among other
sports, for the AP for many years.


Noted sailors -- and maritime lawyers -- Doug Holhaus and Graham
Kelly. Graham was a member of Dennis Conner's Freedom-Liberty
campaign in 1983. Doug has, more recently, been a Prada advocate
and frequent author of thought-provoking articles for a leading
sailing website based in San Diego.


One of the many SDYC junior sailors in attendance. Did not get
his name, but he is an enthusiastic supporter of BMW ORACLE Racing
who aspires to race in the Cup someday. If someone would email his

Cup winner ('83 with DC's Freedom-Liberty) Bob Campbell (who also
had a role in the '92 AC film Wind) with his son, Bill, and Cup fan
(relatively speaking) Terry Wilson.
