FACES IN THE (VERY HAPPY) SEATTLE YC CROWD Nov 8, 16:34
Last night's sensational SYC Stop Seven....
Commodore Chris Otorowsi and Dicko with Staff Captain Roy
Robinson and Judge Advocate Evan Schwab during the pre-dinner
Moet reception. Evan had to leave early but still managed to be
an auction winner.
Molly and Bob Cadranell with SYC denizen Sally Laura, mother of
noted SYC racer Mark "The Pasta Kid" Laura.
Fleet Captain (Sail) Bruce Campbell and wife Bobbi, with Jane and
USSA Judge/Umpire Bill Mains.
Commodore Otorowski presenting Mark Turner with a bottle of the
area's noted BSH wine, with good wishes that our new boats turn
out to have the same strength and character as the wine -- indeed,
that they share the wine's cheeky appellation.
Design team member Ingo Raasch, SYC member Larry Cole,
Fred Bieker (Paul's father), and BMWOR structural team leader
and Seattle native Paul Bieker.
Dicko with some happy and generous auction winners. It was
the most successful auction yet -- to the tune $35,700 -- with all
proceeds benefitting the SYC Sailing Foundation. As always, see
Jane's story on our main website.
Stop Seven at SYC saw the biggest turn out of BMWOR team
members. From left, boatbuilder Scott Bennett (NZL), structures
team member Eric Jolley, BMW structural analyst Thomas Hahn
(GER), BMW engineer Christopher Belding (GER) and structures
team member Emanuel Alban (FRA).
Rob and Suzanne Fleming with Paul Bieker.
SYC members with Ian Burns after the show. Fresh once again
gave his synopsis of the BMWOR design process, which is proving
to be a particularly popular segment in our YC Tour shows.
Vice Commodore Ben Cozadd with his wife Shirley and Rear
Commodore Jack Sullivan. With Comm. Chris Otorowski leading
the auction, last night the newly installed flag officers had the
Club rocking.
